Santa Smells Like Bourbon…

If you’re like me, you drink waaayyy too much.
Now that my babymama’s off the sauce, I figured it might be a good time for me to give the liver a well-deserved rest, but as I found out I really missed the taste of a good brew, not just the awesome power it has to make me appreciate Molly Hatchet albums. I tried a lot of the major non-alcoholic brews (O’Douls, Molson Excel, Sharps, Kaliber, Coors NA, etc.) and enjoyed a few of them [article available here], but almost all of them fell short.
At my local wine castle I found a German non-alcoholic beer called Clausthaler that I’ve been enjoying quite a bit. It’s definitely modeled after a pilsner, and reminds me a bit of Pilsner Urquell or even a Heineken. Very light and dry, with a clean finish, and no soapy or burned aftertaste. The only down side is that it is a bit pricey: like 9 bucks for a sixer, so we’re not excatly putting any away for the college fund. But, it does trick me into thinking I’m enjoying the high life, so that’s gotta be worth something.
