Not exactly SFW:
Lately I’ve been into paying attention to what other blogger dads and moms call their kids in their blogs. The nice thing is that when they’re all in therapy together, they can help each other cope with all their confused feelings.
Our little bundles of Joy:
The Monkey and The Bean
Busy Girl, Busy Boy, and The Not Yet Kindergartener Formerly Known as The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby
Any other angels in the blogfield that I’m missing?
Here at BabyRoadies, we try to put some public service in between the boobs and the diapers, so here are a bunch of the Mattel “Lead Paint” toys with images so you can look at them and see if your version of the Sesame Street Giggle Drill is actually twice as dangerous now.
Some links may be broken, and the list is only half-complete, so if anyone out there is inspired to track down the ones we’re missing, the would would be a better place.

After hunching over our tiny umbrella stroller for this summer, I’ve been looking for an easy alternative. The simple problem is that the thing is too short for me and my Amazonian bride to push comfortably…it’s like the handles need to be about a half-inch taller for us to accurately maneuver the thing, but as it is, I’m hunching forward with our shoulders and constantly kicking the thing with my feet.
To our rescue come the kind souls at TallParents who have developed a stroller with telescoping handles that can come up to the correct level for us tall folks and lock in place. The obvious news is that there is a manufacturing defect with the stroller that causes the handles to (safely but probably annoyingly) telescope back down while you’re pushing. There’s a little message on their website that says that they’ll notify you when they become available again.
I am here to publicly offer my child and my arms as test subjects when the strollers become available again. Attention TallParents Folks: I will offer a completely glowing review of your product (provided my kid doesn’t end up being rocketed into traffic and my arms don’t end up like cartoon accordions) if you send me a free sample. Hook a tall brother up.
Hank and I often play a rousing game of “Car Truck Bus” out in front of our house. As different vehicles go by, I say whether it is a car, a truck or a bus, with the occasional motorcycle thrown in. Let me tell you, this game is a pain in the ass.
What the hell is a Chrysler Pacifica? A car? It’s big enough to be a truck…it’s bigger than a Ford Escape, and we call them “Trucks” when we’re playing. Minivans? Where do they fall? What about those goofy Chevy SSRs? I think they’re actually smaller than a car and lumpier than a VW Beetle…What happens in my kid’s brain when I call that a truck, and then one of those massive Lexus RX cars? How is he supposed to keep this shit straight?
I guess my question is, do we now have to play the game of Car Truck Bus Motorcycle SUV Minivan Van Jeep SmartCar Scooter Segway (and being in downtown Ann Arbor, we see those) Dune Buggy Windjammer SpaceShuttle Toboggan Zepplin???
Attention Detroit (and mostly Japan):
Keep things simple! I’m trying to educate over here!
