Oscar’s still sleeping in the bed with us, but at some point he’s going to have to move to the crib. If the first three months are any indication, I’m anticipating it won’t be the easiest transition.

With that in mind, the $200+ pricetag on this Amby Baby thingamabob doesn’t seem too bad. It’s a bouncing, swinging baby-cocoon* sort of thing, and unlike regular baby swings, it’s safe for extended sleeping. The fact that Oscar sleeps like.. well, a baby, when he takes naps in his Fisher Price swing makes me think even if he resists the crib, he’d be way into the coziness and motion-y-ness of the Amby Baby.

Anybody out there tried it?

- Matt

*Not to be confused with old-people cocoons

I have a Stokke and bought it used a few weeks ago for my 15 week old.Everywhere I take it people stare nd say how neat it is. It is so easy to push and turn. My 4 year old daughter can even push and control it in the store. It corners like a dream, and is very stable. And the shopping bag that comes with it is very large. I take it to the grocery store and it can hold about 3 plastic bags full of groceries. There are drawbacks though. It is pretty heavy I think around 20 lbs or so. And it is big. It will “collapse” as far as taking off the seat and foot rest and the wheels go together, and if you have the handle up it will go back down. But that is it. I have an SUV so I can fit it into the back, I don’t know how it would fit into a trunk though. And there is no cup holder.
Over all it is a great stroller.
